Table of Contents

Introduction

This site contains a copy of the disk set generated by Robert W. Schuler to archive work in progress on the IGES Application Protocol: 3D Piping 1.3. The work was generated using MS-DOS, and the official archive is stored on ten 3.5" floppy diskettes.

This disk set contains the electronic copy of the "IGES Application Protocol: 3D Piping Version 1.3" developed by Robert W. Schuler at M. Rosenblatt & Son, Inc. The work that went into producing this product is largely voluntary although it is fully supported by NAVSEA03L and M. Rosenblatt & Son, Inc. Effort was contributed by Justin Reynolds and Michael Hollar of M. Rosenblatt & Son, Inc. and was paid for at company expense.

File Names

Most of the files in this disk set are zipped using PKZIP, and may be unzipped using PKUNZIP. Each file name consists of three letters indicating the portion of the final document concatenated with three letters indicating the format of zipped data. For example CH4WP5.ZIP contains files for chapter 4 of the final document in WordPefect 5.1 for DOS format. In order to keep computer files to a manageable size, the "IGES Application Protocol:3D Piping Version 1.3" has been divided into several pieces:

File Format

There are many file formats contained in this disk set. The primary set of files are the PostScript files found on the first few disks in the set. From these PostScript files, the complete document (except for Appendix C & D) may be directly printed. These PostScript files were generated using WordPerfect 5.1 for DOS and printing to a file using the Apple LaserWriterNT printer driver. Most of the figures contained in the document were drawn using AutoCad 12 for DOS. These files were plotted to file using the HP7475A plotter driver. The plot files were then converted to WordPerfect Graphics files using GRAPHCNV.EXE which is part of WordPerfect 5.1 for DOS. In a few cases, figures were scanned or captured using other means into Windows 3.1 bitmap files. The bitmap files were also converted to WordPerfect Graphics files. Files generated using AutoCad were also exported using DXFOUT to produce Autodesk Drawing eXchange Formatted files and IGESOUT to produce IGES compatible files. The file formats found on these disks are:
